Back to Normal.... YES please !!

Does anyone else feel the same... LOVE Christmas as much as we do here at Alternative we are ready for some normality and knowing what day of the week it is! The added excitement of planning for big brown boxes of new stock coming through the doors of the shop, means we can hardly contain ourselves ...

The Sale we have from Boxing Day each year of reducing left over Xmas decorations to half price means that the week after Xmas is just as busy as before, which we are eternally grateful for, but that also means that when all the holidaymakers go home on 2nd January and leave Keswick to it's few thousand locals that we have a sharp contrast of the number of people coming through the doors of the shop... I swear on some days you can see tumbleweed blowing down Main Street !!! But it is the same every year, it gives us time to do all sorts of back office jobs in the shop, preparing for the year to come and when we do bag a real customer talk them to death !!!!

The weather that most of the country have been suffering with, snow and wind, have made the Lake District look picture perfect, it's made a walk on our days off cold but beautiful. I was sorry to hear the tales of our wonderful Mountain Rescue teams had had their services called on several times that maybe they shouldn't have needed to be but they never complain, just go and do what they do, help people.... truly amazing !!

So, go and get your break away here in the Lakes booked, we are looking forward to seeing you....
